oppressing the masses

heart arrhythmia

keeps me awake

convinced I'm about to die

while Lu, beautiful,

watches television in bed.

It eventually settles

and I drop into nightmare territory

looking for a key in a funurary urn

while the Thames floods London

and my clean socks

and stuck to someone's jumper.
