sparrow song
burning away the frost
warm sunshine

his body
found in the bath
of a foreclosed house
bound at the wrists and ankles;
his skin teased away
and left in ragged strips
hanging from open wounds.
His smile of welcome
more of necessity than joy
for his fleshless face
can do little else but smile
through the blood and exposed muscle.
Traces of semen
crusted on ancient porcelain.
Someone enjoyed their liaison
but was it the victim or their lover?
