slivers of sunlight
peering through moving clouds
inland gulls

Early nineties
I bought a CD Walkman from a pawn shop;
attached it to my hifi separates
and recorded CDs from the library.
My music collection blossomed;
became eclectic
settled in my psyche.
Philip Glass' Satyagraha
will forever remind me of the flat in Stubbs Road
with the morning sun flushing the living room
before I headed to the opening shift at the car park.
Dungeons and Dragons on a Thursday night
cold schnapps and warm wine
and the complex social dynamics
of swapping girlfriends.
