cold rain
sweetening my taste buds
garden strawberries

almost midsummer
he gets his winter duvet from storage,
shivers as he gets into bed.
bare arms and short skirts
can wait until September;
England is two months behind
or two months ahead in winter.
I plant olive trees
for the next generation to harvest.
