radio four
as I'm driving to or from training
talking about jobs you had as teenagers
We hear of a woman who worked on a market stall
selling baked potatoes with one in each pocket
to keep her hands warm
and a lad who worked at the cinema
dressed up as Darth Vader for a new film experience.
I debate phoning in.
My job at age fourteen was officially 'gardener'
but I was actually working down the park
giving blow jobs at a tenner a pop
behind the cricket pavilion.
I elect not to phone in.
This is the face of seventies Britain
The BBC would rather forget.
