waiting for Widget to go outside
eats her leftovers

No usual group of lads outside the shop here
they must be having lie-ins for today
instead of smoking fags and drinking cheap beer
and abusing customers along the way.
Once inside the shop she wants a curry;
the scent of spices stacked upon the floor
but the customer in front is in a hurry
and pushes past as she opens the door.
Her bag of change is knocked against the door frame
and forms a leaking split along the side
He scowls at her like she's the one to take blame
and she apologises just to save his pride.
