Free to good home: The Outlaw Demon Wails

NOTE: This is the SAME BOOK as Where Demons Dare (Rachel Morgan 6)
just under a different title. That's why I have a pristine copy.

One of the authors I read avidly is Kim Harrison. It's urban fantasy too, though a little different to An Ungodly Child.

I have a brand new copy of Kim Harrison's The Outlaw Demon Wails (Rachel Morgan 6)
to give away to a commenter. Obviously, it'd be nice if you'd plug An Ungodly Child on your blog but I'm not insisting on it. I'll send it anywhere in the world at my expense. I love Teryy Pratchett, and reading him was part of the process of creating my style of writing.

So please comment, tell your friends to comment, and tell them they should read me, too.

Winner to be picked at mid-day on Saturday 30th May

Last weeks winner of The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents was Cassandra. Please send me an address to send it :)

Free to good home: The Amazing Maurice

One of the reviews of An Ungodly Child said "If you like Terry Pratchett run out and buy this."

Free books from Nik

Nik Jones is giving away three copies of his book at his blog here - although he's making you work a bit.

I haven't read his debut novel 9987 yet but DJ Kirkby reviewed it here and it's on Amazon HERE.

A character in a video store in 25 words? This was mine:

She's red-haired, red-faced and breathless. Not single – she’s with a list. Shame about the scar across her cheek. It looks like a zip.

Think you can do better? Don't tell me, tell him!

Fiona Robyn's "The Letters"

Fiona Robyn is having a free draw for a preview copy of her book "The Letters"

I haven't read it yet, but I hope to. Pop over there and see if you can win one!

Raspberries, Rain and red

This is what greeted me on the field today :)

They weren't ripe yesterday, but apparently the rain brings them out just so. I ate raspberries as a taking-the-dogs snack.

This was a nice little gate in a fence, leading to the back-end-of-a-garden-next-to-a-cemetery.

It was a wasted bit of garden if you ask me. There was the remains of the bonfire they lit yesterday (despite the by-laws preventing bonfires before 7PM) and a few broken slabs. Pretty arch of calamatis*, though.

*Yes I know, but I can never grow them, hence 'calamity'

So what else am I supposed to do in the rain?

Would I make Vogue, do you think?

This gift came from Liz at
My Favourite Books

Isn't she super :)
I have swag and she has a great blog.

Thanks Liz

Do you think I could get away with changing my first name to Simon?
Simon R Green?
Okay. Maybe not.

This is interesting

Dave Balter, from the word of mouth marketing agency BzzAgent, has an offer on. His new book, The Word Of Mouth Manual, Volume II, which costs $45 at Amazon, can be downloaded for free in PDF format.

It’s a good idea because: 1. Dave put in everything he knows about the power of word of mouth, 2. Dave is self publishing the book, and 3. Dave is walking the walk by initially promoting the book solely by word of mouth.

I'm a bzzagent too and I've downloaded a copy and it's really rather good.
