Brick Outhouses, cats and dogs

These are the back alleys on the way to the park. Some lovely autumn foliage.

and what appears to be a birthday. I love these sheds built against the outer edge of the property. All the houses along here (all ex-council) had them.

I couldn't resist a photo of these two cats sunning themselves on top of the dustbins. They were a tad wary of my three dog, though.

The front of this house looked like an architectural scrapyard. I was tempted to see how much they wanted for those corrugated iron arches.

Real brick outhouses! Just like my grandparents had.

If someone said "he was built like a brick sh*thouse" this is what they meant. That's an old garage with metal concerting doors on the left, too.

See that gap in the wall?
Jack went after a squirrel in there. The trouble was, he was still attached to Trickster,
who was left dangling by the neck from the wall until I rescued her.

Derilict Factories

Walking back from Morisson's I came a different route that took me through the middle of two abandoned factories. I felt almost awed at the huge space of these brownfield areas an the vast number of disused buildings. The amount of concrete laid down would have comfortably parked three hundred cars and was being slwly reclaimed by nature; principally buddleias.

It was mostly surrounded by these old walls where were themselves being invaded by ferns and lichens and buddleias and ash saplings.

Further on was part of a wall of a third disused factory. Sandstone and iron railings: marvellous!

Finally the path nearest to the house.

Why someone had left an office chair (destroyed) I've no idea. A testament to man, I suppose, though left to itself it will soon be covered by brambles.

Greenery Snickets

A hidden pathway
followed with the dogs on leads
Does it go our way?

Delightful result!
Sheds I haven't seen before,
beautiful decay

Urban closures in
the public's best interests?
I'd love to live here.

Private fishing lake
with public access - Last time
I brought Holly-dog.

Dogs love hidden fields
and I let them run freely
for a little while.
A multitude of thistles
fill the air with fairies
