Sunday morning
and Mum starts the day early
bacon sandwiches all round
with the bacon fried in lard
and the bottom slice of bread
deep fried to a golden, crunchy brown.
Then dressed and off to church
for the nine o'clock mass
where it's a long walk
to the old schoolroom.
