dull sky
where even the promise of sunshine
fades

she sold a painting
from her bestie's art show
and it light up her world.
Even more so
when she discovers her ex bought it
in a reconciliation attempt.
I'm in two minds about this:
on one hand I'd be hurt it was a pity purchase
and not a real sale on the painting's merit
but on the other hand
if people want to buy my work
on the miniscule chance
of getting into my knickers
I'm all for it.
That one's fourteen thousand,
by the way.
