hungry for breakfast
impatient dogs

New Berry Fruits
were my mum's favourites;
jelly fruit with liquid centres
and only now,
as I cough up lumps of phlegm
I refer to as 'lung jellies'
do I wonder if she actually liked them
or was she just pretending
for the sake of her children?
