sunshine
breaking through the clouds

early rain
pauses for a moment
as the sun wriggles through clouds
making the world glisten;
scattering prisms from drops of water;
the early tulips,
hellebore, daffodils;
and the bright, curly fresh leaves
of emerging rhubarb.
