sunshine
darkening the cherries
hungry blackbirds

youngest child
hits twenty-seven today
and I'm astonished.
The photo I have of myself
on my on twenty-seventh
has me all in black
on my first wedding day;
smiling and crying with happiness,
unaware of the seven years of misery
I was about to endure.
