The angel places sallow hand against its heart
and closes grip around a stoppered vial
extends it out toward her "For your art
will now be valued highly for your style;
"But always add a little of this hue
and every canvas made will bring delight
to every person who has the chance to view
before the longest day and endless night."
A moment more and then the figure leaves
and she can bare remember it was here
except the vial that Pestilence retrieved
holds the promise of a future she holds dear.
