divesting the room
of another piece of furniture;
art supplies I've hoarded
paper, paints, inks.
All are bundled into boxes
and stored in the loft.
I'll give them a year, or maybe two,
and then discard the lot.
Lu persuades me to keep the boxes of jiu-jitsu gis
just in case I ever find another teacher.
I remain skeptical.
I'm old and fat
and more likely to use Krav Maga
than the gentle art of Gracie.
